April 2012
Titanic Exhibit at Henry Ford Museum
On April 12th, 1912, the "Unsinkable" Titanic sank after colliding with an iceberg, loosing more that 1,500 passengers and crew. The Henry Ford in Dearborn is proud to bring the largest exhibit to their location, with 300 artifacts on display. Included will be a full scale replica of the Grand Staircase. We will learn about passengers who had ties to our state of Michigan. This is a redesigned 100th Anniversary display, which will take us back to 1912, from the ships construction, to its' onboard passengers on this ill fated voyage, to amazing artifacts rescued by divers to the sunken ship.
I have attained a block of tickets for the NNN for the date of Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 am at the museum. All entrance tickets are timed, and once inside, you are free to stay as long as you like. It is estimated to take approximately 2-21/2 hours to see the exhibit. Ticket prices also include the regular museum once you have completed the Titanic. The Henry Ford has a wonderful cafe for lunch. Lunch would follow our visit to the Titanic exhibit. Re-entry is not allowable; but you may proceed to the regular musem exhibits after lunch.
If you are a member of the Henry Ford/Greenfied Village, your entrance to the Titanic will be only $9.00 along with your membership card. For others the entrance is a group rate of $24.25 per person. Lunch is on your own. Please submit the appropriate amount of either $9.00 or $24.25 to: Judy Robbins , making checks payable to NNN. ALL MONEY IS DUE IN NO LATER THAN APRIL 3. NO EXCEPTIONS.
There are 25 tickets blocked off, so please let us know ASAP. Please indicate, along with your check, if you want to carpool or are willing to drive for the carpooling. Car pooling rules apply. We will meet at the parking lot across the street from the Northville Post Office, nearest the parking stucture at 9:30 am. For questions, please call either Judy Robbins at 248-667-9266 or Sandy Salloum at 248-344-7995 (after Feb. 16).

JEWELRY MAKING CLASS
After the class we had last year, there has been expressed interest in doing a class again. Pam, from Pam's Beads, has agreed to do a class for us, but this time teaching each one of us not just how to string, but how to finish a project--beginning to end. Before a date is set, I would like to know how many are interested in doing this again. Pam is moving her bead shop from Plymouth to Farmington after the first of the year. We are looking at a date (?) sometime in March. If you would like to do this, please email me. The class would be limited to 12, and once a date is set, you would need to purchase your beads a couple days before the class. Thanks you!
